US dollar traveller cheques can be conveniently cashed at all provincial banks and authorised money changers. Major international credit cards, such as American Express, Diner, Carte Blanche, Master Charge and Visa are accepted by major banks, restaurants and shops. Thai and foreign banks provide standard services nationwide, Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 3:30pm, except on public and bank holidays. Major banks such as Bangkok Bank and Thai Farmers Bank operate currency exchange centres in most tourist areas from 7.00am to 9.00pm, seven days a week, including holidays.

The main banks in Thailand have a nationwide network of ATM machines that dispensing Thai Baht. The ATMs generally have Thai and English language displays and can accept the both the cards of other Thai banks and internationally recognised foreign cards. Many machines will also accept VISA or MasterCard.
