The Monarchy

In Thailand there is a deep reverence for the Royal Family. As a visitor, you should show respect for the King, Queen and the Royal Children. You will find many portraits of the Royal Family in shops and peoples homes. If you go to the cinema, before the film a portrait of the King will be shown and you must stand for the national anthem. You should never stand on a coin as this has the King’s portrait on it.
