Sight Seeing


The Beaches

Jomtien Beach, has a huge 14 km stretch of beach.   The water is calm and it is the best area for all types of water sports activities.   Wong Amat Beach, is a quieter alternative if you just wish to chill out and relax.

Also, the Coral Islands, are just a short boat trip away from Pattaya.  There are the islands of Koh Larn, Koh Lin and Koh Phai, all of which are surrounded by crystal clear waters which is ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling

Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum
In downtown Pattaya, this is a great place to spend a rainy day and is full of weird and wonderful trivia collected from around the world.

Suan Nong Nooch
About 15 kms from Pattaya, this is a Thai-village-style recreation park with beautifully landscaped gardens, an orchid nursery, mini-zoo and twice daily shows with cultural and traditional performances and an elephant show.

Million Years Stone Park & Crocodile Farm
9 km from Pattaya, you can see breeding pens with more than 1,000 crocodiles, a zoo and a bonsai garden decorated with rock formations.

Pattaya Elephant Village

About 30 km from Pattaya, this mini-zoo has crocodiles, tigers, camels and many birds.   You can feed a camel or have a photograph taken with a tiger!

Khao Khiew Open Zoo
1,200 acres of forest and natural beauty, makes this one of the largest zoos in Asia, surrounded by forests, waterfalls and showcasing many Asian species wild life.

Marine Science Institute

Asia's Largest Butterfly Garden - Saithip Butterfly Garden
30 km outside Pattaya, this floral garden occupies 15 acres of beautiful landscape in Khao Kheaw with over one hundred species of thousand of butterflies.

Temples and Culture

Wat Yansangwararam
2 kms from Pattaya, this temple is under the His Majesty the patronage.  The modern style incorporates buildings of different architectures - Japanese, Chinese, Indian and Western, as well as modern Thai architecture.

Khao Cheejan Buddha Mountain
Located near Wat Yansangwararam, you can see a huge Buddha is carved in gold onto a stone mountain.

 

Natural Beauty

Nam Tok Chan Ta Then Waterfall
7 km from the entrance to the Khao Khieo Open Zoo, in the Kho Kiew - Khao Chompoo Wildlife Conservation district, this waterfall is more than one km in length and is the only significant waterfall in Chonburi province.   It is best to visit after the end of the rainy season in mid-0ctober for swimming.   In the dry season, from January to April, there is less water in the stream but the two hiking trails are very popular year round and it is still a good spot for a picnic.   One pathway follows close to the five levels of the waterfall and the other diverges into the forest.

Panarak Park
Located a few kms in-land from Pattaya, you can find well maintained tropical gardens and well stocked fishing ponds.   Anglers can rent fishing tackle and there are bike paths and jogging trails as well as a mini golf course and restaurant.   Small boats and paddle boats can be rented for those so inclined.

 

Nightlife

Cabaret show
For a unique experience why not spend an evening at the Tiffany Show or Alcazar.   These shows feature transvestites in fabulous colourful costumes siging along to famous songs and performing cabaret pieces.
