Lanna Weddings

Although Thai beaches have an irresistable allure, increasing numbers of visitors are being drawn to the wealth of historical sights and unique culture, called Lanna, in the northern provinces.  In Chiang Mai, this rich heritage and fascinating culture is enhanced by spectacular forest and mountain scenery.

The Lanna wedding ceremony will take place amongst a collection of lovely old houses in a delightful garden.

Dressed in norther costumes the couple will participate in the traditional wedding ceremony followed by a lunch of Thai cuisine served in the beautiful gardens.

Our very special Lanna Weddings are set a Galae House Lanna Village, a collection of lovely historic Lanna buildings, surronded by old trees with huge spreading branches. The wide terrace in between the house forms the main stage for exchanging wedding vows and is decorated with traditional style banners and lanterns.

In the afternoon the couple will enjoy a cruise along the Maeping River with a stop in a local village.  And, later in the evening, a romantic candle lit dinner wih fusion cuisine in the elegant teak wood setting of the hotel's speciality restaurant.

The next morning, after rising early to offer alms to the monks from the local temple, the couple will plant a tree in the resort's tropical gardens.  In the years to come this will grow into a mature tree and symbolize the blossoming of the couples love for one another.  The newly weds then enjoy a sparkling wine breakfast in the room.

• Flower garlands and two ladies dressed in northern Thai costume scattering flowers as you enter the resort
• Flowers and fruit in the room
• A sparkling wine breakfast in the room (on the morning after the wedding ceremony)
• A traditional Buddhist wedding ceremony (a full briefing will be provided before the ceremony)
• Rental of the traditional northern Thai costumes
• Hairdresser for the bride
• Wedding bouquet and button hole for the groom
• Special decoration at Galae House where the ceremony is held
• A photographer and wedding album (3 rolls of film)
• Limousine transfer to Galae House
• Thai lunch in the grounds of Galae House
• An afternoon cruise along the Maeping River with a stop in a local village
• A fusion cuisine wedding dinner in La Gritta Restaurant
• Offering alms to the monks early the next morning at the nearby temple
• Planting a tree in the tropical gardens of the resort after the wedding
